The Scottish Arts Council have provided a grant towards the cost of a Summer School. This will take place on 14/18 July 2,003 inclusive, at the Rutherford McCowan building in the University of Glasgow, Crichton Campus Dumfries.

We have an interesting programme in place, with lectures by a number of experts, and visits to places associated with Robert Burns. The Summer School co-incides with the Brow Well Service on 16 July, and it is hoped as many as possible will attend this important service in the Bums Calendar.

On the last day there will be a showing of the film 'Auld Lang Syne" - courtesy of Professor Ross Roy and Scottish Screen - this will be followed by discussion and "lively" debate. A celebration lunch with entertainment by Gill Bowman will round off an enjoyable programme. The enclosed leaflet and booking form will give details of what is planned.
